Biography:

Master in Saxophone from the University of Costa Rica, Pablo Sandí is recognized for his great versatility as a saxophonist, as he works both in latin popular music projects and in the classical field of the instrument. In his country he actively participates in many recordings of different genres, and has also been invited as a soloist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica. On the other hand, since 1999 he is a member of the group SONSAX where he performs the baritone saxophone, a group with which he has toured North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

A member of the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) since 2000, he participated in the biennial conferences at North Texas University (2002) and North Carolina (2004). He has also been invited to the World Saxophone Congresses held at the University of Montreal (2000), University of Minnesota (2003), Scotland (2012), Strasbourg (2015) and Croatia (2018).  Other appearances include the Montreal Jazz Festival (2000, 2003), the World Salsa Congress (Puerto Rico, 2006) and Eugene Rousseau Celebration (University of Greensboro, North Carolina, USA).

As a lecturer and soloist he has participated in the XV Yamaha Festival (Colombia, 2009), the Fourth International Meeting of Saxophonists of the Conservatory of Tatuí (Brazil, 2010), the Latin Festival of Cadiz (Spain, 2010), the First International Meeting of Saxophonists in Peru (2011), Honduras Sax Fest (2012), Paris Conservatory (2013, 2017), Shell Lake Rousseau Sax Camp (2014), University of Minnesota (2015, 2017), University of North Dakota (2017), Dinant (Belgium 2017), I and III Cali Saxophone Festival (Colombia 2017, 2019) and the Hong Kong International Saxophone Symposium (2018). He is also part of the Costa Rica organization Sax Fest since 2009 and has served as a jury in the Latin American Competition of Saxophone Marcel Mule in the Federal District of Mexico in the 2009, 2012 and 2014 editions.

Invitations to participate as a soloist include the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra (Colombia), the Cali Departmental Band (Colombia), the UNAM Symphony Band (Mexico) and the San José Concert Band (Costa Rica).

Pablo is currently professor of Saxophone at the University of Costa Rica and the National Institute of Music.
