Biography:
After surviving a catastrophic stroke, David Nabb worked with Jeff Stelling to develop a professional saxophone that can be played with the right hand only. In 2013, Nabb and Stelling received the first-ever OHMI/Ars Electronica prize for their work on this “toggle-key” saxophone at Bruckner Hall in Linz, Austria. In 2011, Nabb and Stelling received awards for outstanding work in musical instrument adaptation from VSA, MENC, NAMM and NAPBIRT at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. A video of Dr. Nabb performing will be on permanent display at the Museum of the Royal Academies of music in London when the museum re-opens after closing for the COVID epidemic.
